Buying Cd key same as buying a boxed set?
Hello, I am planning on buying Guild wars Trilogy (maybe EOTN later), but looking at Ebay and Amazon it was too expensive to buy the boxed set. So looking around i found i could buy the Guild wars trilogy CD Key from Offgamers for $20.00 USD. So i actually have 2 questions
1. Is Offgamers a safe company to buy CD keys from? 2. If i bought a CD key for Guild wars trilogy and downloaded the game client (presumably from the NCsoft website or this one) would i have the same features as someone who bought the box set? (i'm talking about the stuff listed here http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_Trilogy thanks |

The problem is will the access key be unused. This is a big problem as ArenaNet does not allow accounts to be transferred to a new owner. Offgamers seems to be a website where game owners can resell their used games.
If you buy a key for the Trilogy you get everything except the Eye of the North expansion. The game is not really on the CDs in the box, it resides on guildwars.com website. When you set up an account you start downloading the parts of the game that will reside on your computer (static stuff like environments). All changeable game data, such as your characters and their data, your storage, your guildhall npcs, etc. all reside on ArenaNet's servers.

Your account is your key(s). And if they are gold sellers than it very likely could be hacked accounts they are selling or even ones that have been banned.
You can take a chance, but if the key is a used one, you would also need the account name (which is an email address) and the password. Then you would have to hope that the original account owner didn't report his account as stolen as he would have all the proofs of purchase. And I found that GameStop is carrying the Trilogy in stores for $20. Just put your zip code in to see which stores in your area have them in stock. http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/Prod...oduct_id=72496

I happened to know the company from a trade I made selling them currency (non-guild wars related). So I was fairly certain that they were legit...and low and behold I have had no problems. |

If getting to a retail store is a problem, you could always purchase your key through Steam. Setup a steam account, make the purchase, and your key will be emailed to you immediately.
I wouldn't recommend going through anyone else for key only purchases, since Stem and the NCSoft store are the only places, to my knowledge, that are authorized key sellers. |

direct2drive.com is also key and download sales, but just like the others the price is $40 which the OP doesn't want to spend.

Gold selling is a legitimate business.
